THREE MAJOR EVENTS



  • In 1947, when Freddy Fender was just ten years old,he made his first appearance on radio at KGBT in Harlingen.
  • In 1957, his Spanish version of Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" and Harry Belafonte's "Jamaica Farewell" on Falcon Records went to Number One in Mexico and South America.
  • In 1975,after his album went multi-platinum. Freddy Fender won both single and album of the year honors from The Galvin Report.
